Is it better to give than receive?

Here at mindsalt, we think it’s better to give, but once you see what we are giving our nearest and dearest this holiday season, you may just think it’s better to receive.  Here is a sampling of what will be waiting for some of our loved ones under the tree this year:

ThinkGeek Giant Plush Microbes - According to Ashley, “One of my least favorite things is getting sick over the holidays. So this year I’m giving microbes to everyone else instead. Cute, plush microbes, that is. Now I just have to decide between mad cow disease and the plague.”

Port Clyde Fresh CatchLouisville may be known for many things, but fresh, wild-caught seafood is not usually on the list. So, this year, Brian is giving the gift of fresh, Maine shrimp from Port Clyde’s.  They even have a CSF (Community Supported Fisheries), which is similar to a CSA, but instead of locally grown fruits and vegetables, you get regular deliveries of seafood.

Matryoshka Measuring CupsTarah loves a fun kitchen…and she is hoping her friends do, too. That is why she is giving these Russian nesting doll measuring cups from WHY Louisville.

Apple iPhoneAs a mother of three, Kelly knows all about searching for the perfect gift.  I am fairly certain this iPhone (with unlimited texting, of course) will surpass all of her teenage daughter’s expectations.

Heifer InternationalThis year, Mike is handing out rabbits, bees, and chickens…sort of.  He is giving these animals to children and families in need on behalf of his family members.  Through Heifer International, you can donate farm animals, trees, and even gardening supplies to a family who can use them to become  more self-reliant, which in turn fights poverty and hunger all over the world.
